Pathology of cervical spondylopathy and principle of
traction treatment
The reason for cervical spondylopathy is
degeneration of cervical inter-vertebral disc, septum turning to narrow, local
tissue swelling, and compression, resulting in neck pain, stiffness and
swelling. Effective traction can ease some of these effects and reduce the
compression of the nervous system. Repeated traction could get muscles of
neck to relax and local tissue swelling decrease.
We carry 3 items that provide varying types and degrees of traction.
The RealEASE Neck Support
The Air Neck Support
The Air Neck Traction II
| Cervical traction is most
commonly used when the patient is in the supine position (lying on the back
with knees bent at a 45 degree angle) with the neck placed at 20-30 degrees
of flexion (forward tilt). Using traction in this position helps stretch the
posterior neck muscles and facilitate intervertebral (bones in the neck)
separation which relieves pressure that may be pinching nerves, therefore,
promoting muscle relaxation and intervertebral separation. Physicians often
prescribe home traction programs for chronic cervical pain patients to
encourage self-management. |

Can this product help improve the “straightening of my neck?
Unnatural straightening of the neck is maintained by muscle tightness and
fixations of the joints in the neck. Traction helps loosen these tight joints
and muscles. You should also be seeing a health care
professional.
THIS PRODUCT IS NOT FOR RECENT SPRAIN / STRAIN INJURIES, OR ACUTE CONDITIONS.
