I've heard aromatherapy oils can fight hair loss. Is that true?
It actually looks that way. Aromatherapyists have long advised massaging pure plant oils into the scalp to encourage new hair growth. Now, science is testing the remedy and getting good results. Dermatologists at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary in Scotland gave 43 people a precise blend of oils to rub into their scalps daily. After seven months, 19 regained as much as half of their hair; a few regrew nearly all of their
lost locks. Study participants had a rare autoimmune disorder that causes patchy hair loss, but the researchers say the treatment may also help reverse other types of balding, such as postmenopausal thinning. If you're pregnant, or have high blood pressure or any other chronic condition, check with your doctor first.
