Types of Acupressure Therapy :
1. Su Jok Acupressure :
Origin: South Korean
Locations on a Hand or a Foot are mapped on to corresponding organs (external
or internal) of the human body. The specific methods are Basic and Twin systems
of correspondence, Insect System and Mini System. Six or Eight Types or Qi
(Pran) are recognized. The disease associated with these Qi are treated. Su Jok
Seed therapy is also gaining popularity. Advanced Su Jok treatment combine the
points located on the hands / feet corresponding to the Chinese meridians.
2. Shiatsu Massage Acupressure :
Origin: Japan
Japanese Massage Acupressure therapy.
In this therapy sedation or diplomatic stimulation is given to cure ailments.
Often rotary motion is used. Do-in A form of self-applied acupressure, similar
to shiatsu.

3. Anma Acupressure :
Origin: China
Chinese Pull-Push Acupressure Massage.
This oriental form of massage uses The principles of meridians and the five
element theory. Massage combines relaxation, pain relieving processes and
effects of treating acupoints.
In the Chinese acupressure variation known as Tui Na, practitioners use their
hands for massage like kneading motions. This popular Chinese acupressure
therapy uses the principles of the five elements theory, balancing of Qi and
acupoints and meridians to treat the ailments. Both the local and referring
points are often treated. A variety of methods of diagnosis and applying
pressure are used.
5. Acupressure, U.S.A.
Primarily based on Oriental Acupressure system.
It combines Chinese and Some forms of Japanese pressure techniques. A
modified variety of acupressure which is known to produce magnificent results
with less efforts.
Reflexology is a type of acupressure that involves pressure points on the
feet and sometimes the hands. Also referred to as Zone Therapy.
6. Pressure Acupuncture
In this technique principles of chinese acupuncture and / or acupressure
therapies are applied to cure various aches / pains / ailments of external or
internal organs. Very effective for many ailments. This therapy is based on
application of the western knowledge to the Chinese meridians and other views of
treatments. Often useful in common ailments, pains, disorders of musculoskeletal
systems and some specific ailments.
7. Atmena Acupressure
Indigenous Indian Acupressure. The system closely resembles the chinese
meridians system, Shiatsu, Su Jok and Acupressure, U.S.A and Pressure
Acupuncture. It has references from the Vedas.
8. Jin Shin Acupressure
Jin Shin Jyutsu A Japanese form of acupressure that involves light pressure
on certain acupuncture points to clear blocked energy.
Jin Shin Do was developed by a psychotherapist and uses deep pressure on the
acupuncture points, along with other techniques, to calm both physical tension
and emotional stress.
