Lower Back Pain Relief from Pain
Back pain Relief
with Flaxseed pillows and packs, microwave for instant back pain relief
Back pain is one of the most common
physical complaints. It has been estimated that approximately 80% of people in
Western countries have experienced low back pain from the lumbar region at some
point in their lives. Most cases resolve within 2-4 weeks without any medical
intervention.
Physical Therapy is the most common treatment for lower back pain. It
generally includes ice therapy to slow nerve conduction thereby
decreasing inflammation and pain. Heat treatments may be used to
accelerate soft tissue repair. Heat increases blood flow and speeds up the
metabolic rate to assist healing. Heat also helps decrease muscle spasm, pain,
and promotes a relaxed feeling. Sometimes a heat treatment is given prior
to a session of therapeutic exercise.
This may just be the answer. Speed
the healing process and relieve the pain with our
lumbar heat pack.

Moist Heat Therapy More Effective than Pain Relieving pills !
NEWARK, N.J.--(BW HealthWire)--May 15, 2002--Low level heat wrap therapy is
more effective than over-the-counter oral medications for relieving low back
pain, according to the results of a nationwide study led by a sports medicine
researcher at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
In a six-month study of 371 patients, (published in
Spine. 2002;27:1012-7) participants
were given the maximum recommended non-prescription dosages of ibuprofen and
acetaminophen or low level wrap heat therapy for two days to treat acute low
back pain.
The results showed that the low level heat wrap therapy provided
significantly more pain relief beginning on the first day of treatment than the
oral analgesics and that the effects lasted more than 48 hours after the
treatment was completed.
Our herbal heat packs are perfectly suited to this type of therapy.
