Proper Breathing and Regulating your Oxygen Intake

Here's some food for thought: "According to several European medical doctors and numerous Taoist, Buddhist, Hindu, Hawaiian and Native American healers and spiritual teachers, there are at least 200 conditions of life and diseases that relate directly to incorrect breathing.

America's own Dr. Andrew Weil states that "Improper breathing is a common cause of ill health."

How well do you breathe?

And if you do breathe well, what is the quality of the air you are inhaling?

Going by priorities, how long will you resist without food?

Days and days.

Without water?

3vDays

Without air?

Seconds.

A healthy body consist of  four fifths water, with water primarily consisting of oxygen. There are trillions of cells in your body that constantly require oxygen in order to operate to their maximum potential. Many diseases are due, at their most basic level, to an oxygen deprived environment.

So, before you think about feng shui-ing your space as invading it with three legged frogs and other symbols - think again. Foremost,  focus on the quality of air you and your family (or your co-workers) are inhaling. You will be surprised, once you start paying attention.

A number of years ago, working on a new work space a friend and I going thru the space I would open a window here and there, and then after awhile realized I was opening the same windows, my friend on a different path would  close them as he came across them. Once we realized,  we started laughing, as we both were doing it automatically. I constantly look for windows to open in a new space, and my friend was concerned with the outdoor pollution so he was constantly closing windows.

Well, by now there is much more data on the indoor air pollution being much much higher than the outdoor one. A scary thought.

To focus on solutions, rather than the problems, below are some suggestions to help your body do help  its self.

Ways to improve the indoor air quality:

1. Open windows! (I knew you didn't know it!:)

2. Bring top air purifying plants (as discovered by NASA research), such as peace lily, boston fern, areca palm, dracaena jenny craig and other. (see the book "How to Grow Fresh Air" for more info.)

3. Spray or diffuse essential oils in the air (
Essential Oil properties) Go for eucalyptus, lemongrass, sage, peppermint, etc.

4. Use air purifiers or ionizers. Salt Rock Lamps and Candle holders have been proved to release large amounts of negative ions into the air.
